What’s their slogan? “Behind the Times”? “Last in Line”? “Grab Life by the Hind Legs?” “Trailing the Way”? “Followers Forever”?

The article didn’t mention cost, but I can guarantee you could get something significantly less fugly for much less.

I work for 2 or 3 people who own Bentleys. They are not fuck you rich, they are just wealthy enough to own a nice house and one or two nice cars. I’m always puzzled why they picked a Bentley. They are expensive and not nice to drive. Nice to sit in, but they don’t have chauffeurs. Is it just to appear wealthy, like a status symbol? One of them owns a very old Bentley too, and you can barley drive it, because there is zero leg room in the front, like you are hugging that big ass steering wheel. He hates driving it, no one ever aits in the back, he paid like 60k for it, and it conatantly breaks. It’s so weird.

You work for individuals, and not companies? And those individuals own Bentley’s? They are fuck you rich. You’re just not conscious enough to realize it.

Tbf a lot of fuck you money people are also relatively frugal and not stupid enough to buy a Bentley, especially for their own car. They have no issue with a Rover, Audi, or a BMW. Meanwhile, people who are rich (but not crazy rich) can afford to be stupid enough to buy a Bentley for appearances and then subject themselves to driving/owning it.

As the old adage goes, “money screams, wealth whispers”. People with real money dont usually draw attention to themselves. The rich people who envy people with actual legit money are the loudmouth idiots that would buy something extravagant as a daily driver

Plus, buying any old luxury car, especially a hand built car, is generally not very expensive. You could buy a 20 year old Bentley for the same price as a low mileage modern semi-luxury car. The difference is that the Bentley will break something every 5 miles and you will send some mechanic’s kid to college 10 times over trying to keep it running

Many are, some aren’t. The typical Bentley owner spends a lower percentage of their incomes/wealth on automotive expenses, anyway, because the people rich enough to buy one tend to be so rich that no car can really make a dent in their finances.

Your chauffer can now get out and plug into the DC fast charger, before refilling the ice bucket.

I already have someone to drive me around in an expensive EV. £2 each way for the bus.

Although a new bus route seems to have opened up along my bike ride to work and its the first diesel bus I have seen in a few years, disgusting thing to cycle past.
