I think I would actually go insane on one of these flights. I was shifted to a direct flight to Korea once, which I think was around 11 hours, and I felt really uncomfortable. The pattern of falling asleep on a plane and then waking up still on the plane, thinking lots of time had passed only to find there was still hours of this to go, was really uncomfortable. It was too long to bypass through entertainment alone and too long to sleep through in one go.
I’ve done MEL - LAX (and back). That one is 14 hours direct. For extra fun, we did it with a 2-year-old.
Fun times.
I feel your pain. We did SFO - SYD, with connecting flights on either side. With a 6-year old.
Dude just pop a `lude and they wake you up when you arrive.
Sure let me stop al Walgreens and ask the pharmacy for this.
no, ask your doctor.
As someone who has flown from London to Sydney, I’d say that you need that one stop to stretch your legs a bit and kinda relax a bit from being in a rather cramped space with strangers next to you. Plus Changi (Singapore) is a nice airport to just look at and walk around anyway.
Funny, as someone who has flown Mel to London, I’d appreciate a nonstop flight.
Non-stop has its upsides, too. Not having to go through security would be the biggest for me.
I think I’d have to try it out next time I fly to Oz; Qantas wasn’t offering those non-stop flights last time I checked but I’m sure they will by the time I finally get my visa (so I guess next year or so)
Holy shit. There’s more and they plan to set up more 20hr flights. I’d rather just connect and be significantly more relaxed and comfortable.
