I just wish GAO reports carried more weight…

Since USPS launched its strategic plan in 2021, it has worked to cut costs and improve service. To align with its cost-cutting initiatives, USPS has extended expected mail delivery times by 1 to 2 days. And it has decreased the amount of mail it expects to handle within the slower delivery times.

But USPS has largely failed to meet even these reduced service standards. USPS’s continuing poor financial condition and service performance issues indicate that its actions haven’t been effective.

I can name one thing that has been a massive clusterfuck:

Getting them all new electric vehicles with AIR CONDITIONING and then Trump deciding that he hated that. I’m not even sure if these new ones ever got on the road or put into service before they got nixed. Literally a whole fleet had already been made.

I haven’t seen one of these anywhere. Pretty sure Trump succeeded in sidelining them and making the 15 years of research, development, and contracts to build them completely pointless. I’m sure we’re financially also on the hook for canceling those contracts, too.

Literally everything the Republicans do is an attempt to make things worse. Gee, I wonder why they keep getting worse?

I’ve seen a grand total of one of those new vehicles. It was in a very well-off upper class area, not sure if that is a coincidence or not.

I did see one of those briefly, before it went away.

Somehow Amazon has been all electric delivery trucks for over a year. That’s all I see anymore
