I was able to try out the MindsEye multi-player platform called Arcadia before the release and it is actually pretty good. Huge open sci-fi world with the ability to create your own worlds and utilize node based visual scripting to create your own games, all from within the platform itself.
Mindseye fully supports this scripting system too, you can edit the full map and add scripted features.
Its a shame they dropped the ball with Mindseye so badly, all the devs I had interaction with were good people, they were just spread too thinly - they essentially created 2 full games plus a ugc platform more advanced than most other popular platforms out right now.
If they were able to just focus solely on one game at a time I’m sure things would have been way better for them.
We, unfortunately, see lots of studios closing, or developers being fired even when the games they made are actually good.

It wasn’t under somebody’s foot. The owner is an independent who lost funding and the poor sales sunk his ship.
Well, sure, but it was obvious from the moment the game launched it was an unmitigated disaster. They should’ve just closed there and then.

I just don’t get the appeal of the game, independent from price. Even at 10 Dollars / Euros there are always better games to play. Just speaking for myself. But you know, sometimes games make a comeback from bad launch (doesn’t look like this game does though).
For me Mindseye is in the same category of Skull & Bones. Maybe there are hours to have fun and worth the discounted price. But it feels so pointless to me.
They likely wish we would. I can’t Imagine it does anyone’s resume any favors.
