On Thursday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m., the city of Marseille will host a conference and discussion on Cuba’s healthcare system and the impact of the intensified U.S. embargo on the island’s health situation. The event will take place at Les Rotatives de La Marseillaise, located at Place du Journal La Marseillaise, 17, cours Honoré d’Estienne d’Orves.
The event will feature Aleida Guevara, a pediatrician and daughter of Che Guevara, who will discuss the current situation in Cuba, especially in the hospital and pediatric sectors, and the difficulties the country faces in the context of the US blockade.
Also present will be Anthony Gonçalvez, professor of oncology and communist councilor of the Marseille City Council, with municipal responsibility for health matters.
The conference-debate is organized by the France-Cuba Association, Stop Blocus, Solidarité Cuba, of Marseille 13. Attendees will also be able to enjoy refreshments offered by the organization.

The activity is conceived as a space to learn firsthand about the reality of the Cuban health system and to analyze the consequences that the blockade measures and the tightening of the US economic embargo are having on hospital, pediatric and health care in Cuba.
