Brewing beans that were sailed over from Columbia with freshly desalinated seawater has to be the most high effort combo possible.
So extremely jealous. I also strongly agree with renaming that drink to a canadiano. That’s great. 🍁
What the actual mother of… wow. Now that’s some original setup. 👏
My other ride is a tiny 1 cup french press for comparison.
Electric or hand grind?
If you used electric you can always sail back and try for the record
Hand ground with my J-Max and hand pumped to 9 bars on the picopresso. But I did use a solar powered electric motor to desalinate the water as hand pumping to 55 bars would be a challenge.
I’m envisioning some kind of stationary bike connected to an alternator
I’m envisioning you volunteering since it was your idea
Hey, if it gets me a free sail trip, I’m in
Just lovely, how was the brew?
Very tasty! but now I want to go for a nap
Why do you have desalinated water shipped from Columbia?
The seawater I desalinate myself but maybe one day I’ll sail down there just to try local water and beans.
Don’t forget to bottle some air to breath while drinking your coffee!
See, now living on a boat doesn’t seem so bad.
But how many miles did you have to carry the firewood on your travois? That would make it even higher effort.
Always a way to make it higher effort!
That’s just leftovers from last winter but I’ll be stocking up on compressed wood bricks before sailing 2500km around Newfoundland this fall. Best way to stay dry in the foggiest place on earth!
Living the dream!
Even the mug looks nice
Thanks! A friend gave it to me a while back. I’m surprised I didn’t break it while sailing yet like all my other ceramic mugs.
what is Canadiano?
An espresso shot diluted with hot water like an americano but I just don’t like naming things after a country that threatens mine.
What an American thing to do.
