i was scroll through Amazon Prime Video lookin for something good to watch… i see the movie IP MAN… im like oh yeah aesome sounds like some thing like matrix, or johnny new manic, or judge dread… imagine my disappointment its about the chinese guy who started wang chung!!!

Understandable to be disappointed when it wasn’t what you went in wanting, but Ip Man is in my opinion one of the best fight / martial arts movies ever made. I hope you re-watch it sometime when you are in the mood for such.
To see him annihilate those men in the end of the movie is not only amazing in itself, but recontextualizes every other fight in the movie. The whole movie references to his renowned skill, and sure he beats his other opponents, but he does so in ways that are the least harmful, and often comedic.
When you know what he theoretically could have been doing, what he was probably having to hold himself back from doing, it really gives such a beautiful portrayal of an understanding and respect for the purpose of violence, or being able to be violent that deepens both Ip Man the character and the rest of the story in retrospect.
