Yeah. I live here and this place fucking sucks. It feels like it’s literally almost 10 years behind the rest of the country, let alone the rest of the world.

Maybe not quite “true” mining, but there’s definitely a prospecting aspect of finding a good vein. There is a mod for coring/quarrying too. There’s pretty much a mod to make any aspect of the game more/less hardcore.

From what I remember, I believe it was an Australian “moms group” that pulled that stunt.

Just read the steam page, and it seems like all the people you can “control”/take care of are female? All the pronouns used in the description are she/her, and no mention of men or males anywhere.

Interesting. But I guess it is a “digital dollhouse,” and Barbies/other dolls are usually female anyway.

Vintage Story is a lot like that too. The only thing is there’s no mod browser in the game, you have to open a separate window for it.

I don’t mind that they’re leaning more into the Primordial/Flood connection, but something about it still seems off.

Maybe I’m just having a hard time overcoming my jadedness for Halo these days.

I just have to be “that guy” but Minecraft didn’t release a playable build until 2009, so that’s only 17 years. Not “decades.”

I think it spawned from that. Or one of those types of mods.

Basically they realized that what they wanted to do would basically make it a whole new game anyway, so they just went and made their own.

VS is like Minecraft but way more realistic. There’s actual metal forging, panning, true mining, farming crops takes a lot longer, weather is a lot harsher. It’s just a more survival-heavy experience.
