      She went to psychiatrists for extreme postpartum depression & stress and so was medicated on multiple antidepressants, but they never caught the warning signs for her psychosis. She experienced intense psychotic episodes (I think primarily from severe insomnia & postpartum mental issues) where she had delusions, hallucinated intrusive voices in her head, had dissociative out-of-body experiences, etc

      She pleaded she was in a dream-like state where a voice in her head commanded her to kill her children and herself to save them so that they can all be with God together; so she strangled her kids before cutting her own wrists and jumping out the window. Just today there was a hung jury & mistrial over her defense’s insanity plea (which was to determine if she goes to a high-security psyc ward or to prison, neither of which are remotely humane in the US tbh)

        Just today there was a hung jury & mistrial over her defense’s insanity plea

        And if I understand right it was one holdout juror that refused to accept the insanity plea.

        Which ngl I feel like while it should absolutely take a unanimous jury to convict it should only take a simple majority to acquit.
