It’s a good thing that bridge was raised. That was a tight fit
It’s closed, it just looks like it’s raised.
So what’s the difference? I get that the intention is different. The bridge is raised to let boats through or the bridge is raised because its closed. But either way it’s still raised.
To be pedantic: it’s not raised in the sense that it cannot go any lower than this, though you could call it ‘raised’ in the sense that it is designed not to be level when closed. It’s closed in the sense that it is fully lowered, not in the sense that you’re unable to cross it by foot.
I like the sarcastic joke, regardless.
