Pretty sure that the Rolling Stones has a whole song about where this “beef” is coming from.
WILD HORSES, WILD HORSES COULDNT TAKE ME AWAY…
From the conservative dinner table.
Horse sashimi is some good eating tho

I cannot say I’ve ever had it.
Wild, wild horses, shouldn’t be take away.
Maybe skip beef for a while unless you know the origin.
If you can get as much meat as you’re able to from a local butcher.
Befriend the people at that butcher shop. Have actual conversations with them, ask their advice on things, even if you don’t think you need it.
The guy that likes you isn’t going to sell you questionable meat. If he’s any good he’s not even buying questionable meat. You might even get discount locally sourced eggs there too.
It occurs to me that some venture capital firms have tried to corporatize and boutiquify butcher shops with expensive, “artisanal” offerings.
Your local butcher probably isn’t wasting money on billboard and TV spots. Parking lot will be full every Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Case will be full and somebody will be actively cutting something up in the back, which will almost certainly be mostly visible.
We’ve got a butcher’s shop in my country that doubles as a restaurant and all the meat comes from their own farm not too far from the city. Best meat I’ve had.
The US has like 300x more population and a huge thing for beef in particular. Bound to have tons of places like that if you know where to look, or so I’d hope.
I also have a quality butcher in ly neighborhood. He wins awards with his sausages, and has his own animals in fields with various farmers he knows.
Most people just get the cheapest meat at the supermarket, though.
Very much depends on where you live. There’s my favorite one, the one I go to for a specific sausage, and two corporate nonsense ones within about 10 minutes of my house.
Where my in-laws live, a city comparable in size to where I live, there are none.
I read an article today that there was tons of tainted beef that China turned down back in the spring. I forget which country has it. There is speculation that the US has bought it after that country called US to make deal. I will see if I can find the article.
Edit here is an article about it.
No surprise that it’s Argentina, whose president is friends with Trump.
The president is rotting in an American jail last I checked.
You’re thinking of Venezuela.
Shit, you’re right, my bad. I shouldn’t comment before coffee, lol.
Finally, Trump made access to medecin free…
It’s just the best Ukrainian beef, brought here by Russian train.
China wouldn’t take it so trump bought it up and will sell diseased beef to Americans because he doesn’t give a shit if we die as long as he makes money off it.
It just had a banned antibiotic didn’t it? Not trying to defend anybody but quite different than having a disease.
A neurotoxic to humans antibiotic.
It just had a banned antibiotic, didn’t it?
People coming up with all those crazy theories while the most likely explanation is that that there is no beef. It’s not the first time Trump promised something without ever planning on delivering it.
I don’t know about that. Last time he imported beef from Argentina and it pissed off a bunch of beef ranchers. Maybe he thought he could avoid that by just not saying where he got it from this time.

I’m stocking up on cat food before this shit ends up killing all of our pets.
It’s primarily going to be put in animal food and processed foods.
Frozen pizzas. Tv dinners. Canned soups.
Sold to restaurants from their bulk suppliers. Especially fast food places.
Packaged frozen hamburger patties at grocery stores.
Any type of frozen meals with beef.
The big rolls of frozen hamburger.
It’s going to be hard to avoid it but not impossible.
Avoid any beef you can’t determine where it came from.
I’d just become vegetarian if the veggies weren’t also toxic. Republicans really have turned this place into a shit hole
And in this case, literally.
You can cook the vegetables
Well, except for things like lettuce and things like garnish, but…yeah.
I’m so glad I’m a vegetarian when it comes to things like tainted meat, but plenty of vegetarian things can get tainted too, a common one being lettuce.
Ahem,
https://thewoksoflife.com/cooked-lettuce-with-oyster-sauce-garlic/
Cook that lettuce like you hate crapping your pants.
Cook for about 20 seconds, to lightly wilt the lettuce.
Ahem, You’re not gonna treat the contaminated vegetables this short amount of time blanching.
That sounds delicious, thanks. I don’t know if there is any substitute for that crunch in salads and on top of something like an Impossible Burger, though…
Idk if this always gets out toxic pesticides. Like the kind that other countries ban that we don’t.
Probably helps with the bacteria outbreaks though.
The good news is that they’ve slashed the CDC’s capability of tracking food-borne illness.
And stopped testing food for contaminants at all
I’m stocking up on cat food before this shit ends up killing all of our pets.
you would not believe the stuff they put in cat food.
Yeah I know already it’s bad. But at least this problem I can avoid by buying it before it gets in it.
In some countries, they feed cats real food, not “cat food”. I lost a cat to intestinal inflammation because I thought I was feeding him properly.
I try feeding my cats boiled meat sometimes. If I cut off the fat or something from something I’m cooking for me, I will dice it up and boil it.
Neither of my cats will eat boiled meat with the exception of my newer cat who was a stray. But even he will only eat canned tuna.
Not turkey. Not ham. Not beef. No chicken.
No lunch meat.
Not even bacon!
I don’t get why they don’t like the best food for them.
I can’t give them tuna all the time because of the mercury. My older cat likes marshmallows. Weird but it is bone meal based.
The stray will eat some wet food so he gets some every day. But my older cat won’t touch the stuff.
🤷
I offer to them and then put outside for a local oppossom when they decline.
I don’t like to waste animal products so someone gets it.
Try organ meat, perhaps?
Might be worth trying. I’ll look into what kinds are safe. I honestly never thought to try that. 👍
Liver, kidneys, heart. Lungs are probably fine too. The thing about organ meat is that it contains a lot of nutrients that aren’t necessarily in muscle meat.
Try feeding them raw meat too, instead of boiling it first. That might be what’s causing them to reject it.

He never said it was beef. Just “product for.ground beef” whatever that is… I say neigh, I will pass on Burgers for a bit.
Earthworm protein?
Brainworms, courtesy of RFK Jr’s head. They need a home with actual substance.
Peak capitalism. Billions of exploited, unidentified animals suffering for profit. Corpse flesh of an unknown species.
How we treat other creatures seems to be a reflection of how we treat one another as a species.

You should start writing lyrics for death metal bands.
I definitely don’t want Lars Ulrich for my drummer.
Nah, Lars sucks. Get a real drummer, like Tomas Haake or Dave Astor or something. (Warning: flashing lights)
once you realize that we’re an evolutionary dead end, you can be happy and get on with life.
If you’re not already watching this guy, I recommend you start. He’s pretty good. He says there’s no way Argentina can produce and export 300k tons of beef in 3 months and it almost certainly comes from Brazil. He also explains why.
Goodbye horses, I’m flying over you
Wild horses slaughtered = mystery beef.
If it wasn’t contaminated horse assholes they would have said it wasn’t contaminated horse assholes.
They have been selling captured wild horses. I just hadn’t realised they captured quite that many.
My friend had a great theory that it’s the horses being put to slaughter.
Pretty easy to test for that using DNA testing.
Or just eating it. Taste is different.
Source: in my area we eat horses. A lot.
Genuine question, what is the taste profile of horse meat?
Ok, so one thing I’m terrible at is describing the taste of food, so I’ll try my best: it has more flavour than beef, but it’s delicate flavour and doesn’t taste gamey. It has a shitload of iron. In my experience the taste changes a lot depending on the cut, more than beef, but to be honest, the vast majority of the time I eat horse meat, it’s in the form of raw, ground meat.
Thank you!
Having never eaten horse myself, as I’ve never had the opportunity, I always expected it would taste similar to lamb, venison, goat, etc. Am I thinking correctly, or way off?
Nope, it’s much closer to beef than game or sheep, it’s rich in iron and has a somewhat sweet flavour, more delicate than beef while actually being more tasty, if that makes any sense.
By how gamey it tastes?
Can we test the beef to determine what animal it came from?
lol and who’s going to do that? The FDA? would you trust it if they said it was okay?
I feel like it would at least taste different
Yup, DNA test.
I was just saying this to my wife yesterday!
