So wasteful. Feed them into a mulcher and use them to reseed the rainforests.

We’re in Australia. The idea of home ownership is completely off the table, and the prospect of retirement is laughable, but we have some really bloody nice beaches!

I moved my American wife and our US-born daughters back to my home country in November 2015. Ultimately the decision turned out to be financially devastating for us, but I haven’t had an ounce of regret since November 2024, I’d rather live in poverty here than any kind of life in the US, especially with teenage daughters. My wife says she’ll never set foot in the US again and would also happily remounce her citizenship.

Mixed grill baby! 😋
Unlikely, they’ll just make it illegal for people like you to carry a gun or stand your ground.

Have these experts not heard of America?

This is understandable when you accept that your options in Australia (and many parts of the world) these days are either generational wealth or lifelong poverty. Not saying it’s ok, just to be expected.

I’d support any initiative that strengthens our relationship with the EU and puts distance between us and the US. The EU is of course far from perfect, but they seem to be the closest thing to a sane global power these days. It’s past time for all countries to decide whether they’re going to prioritise human rights and stability, or the whims of oligarchs, because the two seem to be mutually exclusive.

It’s one thing to go off-grid when your country has a functioning infrastructure and supply lines. It’s more than a little different when pretty much everything has collapsed, people are starving and desperate, and disease is running rampant due to lack of clean water and sanitation. I really don’t think many people in Cuba right now are thinking thank GOD I have my electric scooter!

This past rainy weekend I made a massive cottage pie to feed a ton of people. I’m still having it for lunch at work.
Sorry I’ve dropped off. Right around Xmas time we went from a household of 3 to 6 and my life is far more hectic than I’d like these days.

Given that Cuba’s entire grid has now failed, sewage is backing up into the streets, and nobody has access to food, water, medicine, or communications, I doubt a few Teslas are going to save them. Cuba is about to be known for mass starvation and disease, not electric vehicles.

Nothing you said is untrue, but the topic is how trump views Australia, and I think you’re giving him far too much credit. I’d like to see Australian leadership pull back from the US or at least not bend over to the imbecile American president.

Honestly, why wouldn’t he?
I’m stuck in the rent-for-life trap unfortunately, but I’m stockpiling shovels, gardening tools, and heirloom seeds so that the second the lights go out my neighbours and I can get to work on turning all our lawns into productive gardens. I also have materials stockpiled for a solar still, hopefully society crumbles before it all goes bad from sitting around too long! 🤞

Funny how republicans never have any problems finding enough democrats to support their shitty policies.
So another forever war.
