      More like:

ICE agents attack voters in 250 different city polling areas stating they felt threatened by the “agitators” waiting in line to vote…

If you live in Texas, you can vote early from October 19th to October 30th, 7 a.m. to 7pm. There is absolutely no reason you can’t find the 20 minutes it will take to vote sometime between 7am and 7pm from October 19th to October 30th. If you live in one of these counties, you can vote at any polling station in the county you reside in.

    Vote!

You know how one can tell that their parties platform and policy is working? That’s right, by restricting voting.

The only way republicans can see themselves winning elections, is by cheating the average voter. Republicans are cheaters, which is why they assume that everyone else is cheating as well.

Fucking garbage, the lot of them. I have nothing but contempt for the brain-dead zealotry that is the Republican Party, and its supporters. One of the guys at work, that voted for Trump, simply throws his hands up and says that “they’re all crooks anyway, what does it matter?”. He is coincidentally a fucking idiot.

The constitution is clear in that the executive does not control elections, but here we are.

I think they meant that it was “too soon” to challenge it because the guidelines were not officially in place yet, not that they didn’t have a legal right to challenge if states ran the election or not

“Go ahead with something that’s clearly unconstitutional, the only recourse anyone will have is letting you drag out the judicial process so long that you’ll get your way anyway.”

This is treason. They are traitors. We hang traitors.

I don’t disagree, but wanted to make the distinction known, because in this case if they draw it out past Sept 3rd, it’s likely too late to implement anything for the midterms. Republicans will need to do the opposite of draw it out if they want to make it in time for the midterms, they need to slam it through as fast as possible.

So they drop this new rule, that USPS has already said they’ll abide by, even after a lower court said “lol no”. And then when states sue for remediation, then they slow walk it.

I mean, I’m not saying that’s not possible. I’m saying it was the opposite case of your first claim. They need to move as quickly as possible to implement the guidelines before Sept 3rd. If they don’t make it in time, some states will have already sent ballots. It’s more than just USPS involved here, they’re only one part of the “guidelines” Trump wants.

The postal service, like the courts, is slow to adapt. So are the states.

All of that being said, those lucky enough to live in a state like Washington or Oregon can already cut out the postal service entirely by printing ballots at home and dropping them off at the ballot box. The postal service has no power to block the ballots that way other than the inconvenience of printing at home or a library. I have exclusively used ballot boxes the entire time I’ve lived in WA, and if fuckery does happen (which I wouldn’t be shocked by), I’ll print my ballot and drop it off.

Sent ballots out, sure. But they can be sent back as long as they’re postmarked up to election day.

Do you mean ballots sent through the USPS from a voter to the election commission? Or am I misunderstanding?

Ballot drop boxes are not operated by the postal service.

And there it is, a right wing plant blaming Democrats for Republican actions to depress the left wing vote.

If you disagree with this characterization of your post, please explain how schumer has anything to do with the Republican executive order that has just been upheld by the Republican supreme court. Also, explain what schumer could do as a minority senator beyond finger wagging to stop the Republican controlled supreme court from allowing the Republican executive branch from doing this.

I’d say the right wing plant is the one trying to convince us that the Democratic leadership aiding the Republican agenda at every turn is somehow a good thing.

In that case, the right wing plant is you.

You’re the one attacking schumer, who made no action in this situation. Why do that instead of attacking the right wingers who are 100% responsible for this unless you want to defend the right wing?l

You are the one who attacked someone who is in no way responsible for this. If you are truly left wing, then focus on stopping the right, not making sure the right wins.

      CNN has some more details.

As I read it, the US Supreme Court basically told the Trump admin they can finish forming the rule they want to use with the USPS to put restrictions on mail-in ballots, then states can sue for harm, whereas at the point the states were suing and the injunction given the final rule wasn’t ready yet. The USPS finished that Aug 21, 3 days ago, and will officially publish it Aug 26, two days from writing.

However the same judge in Boston separately prevented any new rule coming into effect for the Nov 2026 elections, so that needs to be overturned. Additionally, after Aug 26, the states can sue again probably and obtain an injunction on the published final rule, to keep the plan being implemented even if the “no new rules before November” injunction is defeated.

(My editorialization) So the Supremely Corrupt Six are wasting federal and states’ and the court system’s money and time just to go out of their way to give the Trump admin small favours.

So I do find this kind of interesting. The feds can’t tell a state how to run their election. But usps is a federal entity. So I don’t see why trump can’t tell them not to handle ballots. I don’t like it, but I am not really sure there is sound legal recourse.
