If you can get hired by Meta, you can get hired by a slightly more ethical company for the same pay. Note there is no ethical employment under capitalism, but Meta is nearly the worst.
What is an ethical company?
A fiction that liberals tell themselves exists. Though it’s plausible one could exist someday.
If you don’t already know how to program, it’s too late. Meta is busy training their AI on everything their programmers do. Then they’ll fire most of them and let AI do the work.
Seriously, though, today is the wrong time to learn to code. The whole job market is chaos and there’s a ton of uncertainty. Don’t take this path unless you are really passionate about coding and don’t care about an unstable job sector.
On top of this, it’s not trivial to get hired at meta. They pay absurd money but you have to get in the door first.
