Next step, conservative politicians to outlaw thermometers and deregulate the chemicals used in pesticides even more. If that fails, farm work will be “optional labor”™ for detainees at the local concentration camp.

Spoken like a “scientist” who voted for the exact deregulation that is causing the issue you are posting about.

I didn’t vote for it. I said that you better hope enough people agree with you when it comes to elections this time. I stand by that. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions here.

Oh yeah, I guess I should assume you never vote conservative. And that your comment saying that I should ensure my candidate is voted into power somehow shows empathy and comradery.

Or maybe I should assume you are acting in bad faith?

What part of anything I said has anything to do with party lines? My exact words to you were: “Guess you better hope enough people agree with you when it comes to elections this time.” That’s not an endorsement of any party.

I’ve voted for Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, and Independents. I don’t vote party lines. I look at the issues and candidates and make my own decision. I don’t agree with everything Trump does, and don’t disagree with everything Trump does. I’m not loyal to any party.

If Lemmy values diversity, shouldn’t that include differences of opinion and viewpoint, short of hate speech or illegal behavior?

Your screenshot of my own conservative community sidebar isn’t a “gotcha!" if that’s what you are trying to imply. I wrote it, I know what it says, and I stand by it.

Trying to paint a label on me based on my communities doesn’t work. I have lots of different interests and viewpoints.

Feel free to check out my libertarian community, where there are plenty of posts that are anti-republican, anti-administration, and anti-authority. Or check out my pro-womens sports community. And my ones about UFO’s, and fitness.

As for your screen cap, you missed the top half where I mention that I support LGBTQIA+ rights and argue for equal rights. Is there a particular reason you didn’t screen cap the entire sidebar?

Maybe you were just in a hurry and it was an oversight. So here, let me help:

Congratulations on not being a homophobe, I didn’t know this needed to be stated but I’m glad you are tolerant of atleast some groups of people. Here is a gold star sticker. ⭐

Guess you better hope enough people agree with you when it comes to elections this time

This is a lot less open minded than you think it is. Really, it is an aggressive victory lap on perceived “liberal tears”. As someone with libertarian and conservative idalitions (which are fundamentally in conflict btw), you should understand how this issue in your post is related to the deregulation of chemical corporations, science denial, and systematic grant pulls.

Instead of some nuanced opinion or even any type of discussion, you would rather say, guess you should hope your side wins next, which is really just wrong on many levels as these are not things that should be a political difference of opinion, these are real crimes of an authoritarian regime.

I’m not even a Democrat so really your whole notion of voting your way out of fascism is lost on me.

Ps: I do honestly value diversity, including that of opinion, which is why I haven’t blocked you or the communities on lemmy.today that have banned me for no reason. Although that doesn’t mean I can’t disagree. And it certainly doesn’t mean I have to be tolerant of threats to me or my comunity, and neither should you.

Congratulations on not being a homophobe,

I’m not seeking congrats about that. Just wondering why you didn’t screencap the entire sidebar.

Really, it is an aggressive victory lap on perceived “liberal tears”.

I never said that. I never implied that. I don’t think that. Those are entirely your words.

As someone with libertarian and conservative idalitions (which are fundamentally in conflict btw)

That’s because, like I said, I don’t vote along party lines.

you should understand how this issue in your post is related to the deregulation of chemical corporations, science denial, and systematic grant pulls.

I know what the article said I read it, then I posted it.

I’m not even a Democrat so really your whole notion of voting your way out of fascism is lost on me.

I’m not even a Republican, so really your whole notion of implying that I voted for fascism is lost on me

I appreciate that. I have never tolerated threats to your or your community. I’m happy to unblock you from my communities (EDIT: unbanned now) and I didn’t even realize you have been banned from them. You may not be aware of just how much hate and trolling I get from people who don’t read the articles and just assume stuff about me without ever having a real conversation.

I’ve been told to kill myself (with very graphic descriptions of how to go about doing that), co-mods have quit Lemmy regarding threats of doxing, my most recent Lemmy stalker said he wanted my jawbone and skull hanging on his wall, one of my fellow mods is trans and she was receiving horrible hateful DM’s because she was helping me mod this comm, and some instances have my name hardcoded into their pre-ban lists.

Plenty of people who suggest that they may not be Democrats have been quickly, and wrongly, accused of being me.

And why does all that happen? Because I post a few articles from Fox News in a conservative comm. I don’t post them to other communities, just my own conservative community. I don’t spread it out to Lemmy. I just keep it in my little conservative community which most block anyway.

But people think that’s worth fucking death threats? What the actual fuck is wrong with people these days? lolol
