I have zero idea what I’m doing but I put together this workbench for $35 as a start!
Welcome to the club, say goodbye to your money
Oh man one time I saw an end table I liked for a hundred bucks so I decided to make it myself and save some money.
About fifteen hundred later I had the table and a bunch of tools too…
There’s always a relevant XKCD.

But say hello to alot of cool tools…and sawdust
And experience.
Isn’t it great what you can cobble together on a low budget?
Get some pads on the bottom of those legs though or they’ll scratch up your floor something fierce.
It looks great, very tidy, very useful, I want to be encouraging.
I have a table with an OSB top and working there has given me serious splinters. I have not yet got a splinter that went up under my fingernail and turned into an ER visit. But it’s very clear to me that such a thing is pretty likely. OSB is very good building material but it’s not flesh-friendly.
I need to put some Masonite on top of it, or something. I haven’t done that yet, I have lately been working with a flattened cardboard box or something similar between my hands and the OSB. As dicey a mess as it sounds.
sheet of hardboard works really well. 4x8 is pretty cheap.
Or give ita quick sand with an orbital to take off the edges and laquer it up
It’s a good second product! I think you built it reasonably solid.
it looks like it might have a bit of a bias for lateral instability. Wobble to left and right a bit, eventually, but I’m sure it would hold a lot of weight and not collapse on you.
this is awesome! keep it up!
What was the first one?
Looks good to me.
Looks great! Slap a vice on the end and sharpen your mower blade.
Wow, it looks great!
So you built a bench. What are you doing with it?
