Highlighting this story for opinions. If you’re familiar with neo-Nazism and deradicalisation experiences, there might not be anything new here.

In short:

A reformed neo-Nazi has spoken about his deradicalisation process at the antisemitism royal commission.

The man referred to as ADC said he was sold “falsehoods” and a “load of lies”, and is pushing to “reinvent” himself.

The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion is examining how programs and policies could support people vulnerable to extremist ideologies.

Same story as any cult. Lonely and disconnected people looking for a place, there is no strong correlation with intelligence, it’s simply about comunity.

It felt like it was getting better for a long time, pre 2020 the internet felt like a community any one could be a part of, and that kind of helped. But now it feels like that is gone and it is getting worse, but I have no data to back that up.
