The face tan made me think of TMNT-style bandana masks and it skewed my entire perception of the comic. I couldn’t understand how the tanlines worked (and it took me a beat to determine they were tanlines) because I was building the theoretical ninja costume around the anchor of those TMNT masks.
I think I’m sleep-deprived.
