Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know I’ve taken over modding this community. Turns out the previous mods have all been inactive for years, so here I am now!

A little about me:

I’m a manager at work and have an infant so I’m not on here 24/7 but I do check several times a day so at most it should only take me a couple hours (unless I’m asleep obviously) to deal with any issues. If there’s something urgent (or not too!), feel free to DM me, I’d be happy to help out.

As far as modding is concerned, I do mod a few other communities, most notably !patientgamers@sh.itjust.works. I have no intentions to be a power mod, and you’re all free to check out my interactions in that community to see how I act. Just wanted full transparency there.

As far as coffee is concerned, I’m relatively new to caring about it but it’s quickly become my favourite hobby. I have a French press, moka pots (3- and 6-cup), Hario Switch (basically between a V60 and Clever Dripper), and now an espresso machine (Gaggia Classic Pro). I almost exclusively take my drinks black, but I enjoy the occasional decaf latte for dessert.

My other hobbies are sort of on the back burner these days since having a kid, but I like video games, movies, music in all capacities (listening, playing, writing, collecting, live shows, etc), and cooking.

I’m located in Canada.

I think that’s all for now, I have a couple things I’d like to improve upon here, specifically the icon, banner, and sidebar, but if anyone has any suggestions at all I’d love to hear them!

    I didn’t know this community existed. I only drink instant coffee with flavored creamer. I will be here from now on to insist that instant coffee is the best way to have coffee and you guys just aren’t doing it right. I look forward to arguing with everyone. o/

    Thanks for taking over, I only recently discovered this community and was impressed by how active it is. Do you need another Mod? I have some interesting ideas for more interaction.

      Yeah… probably a pretty predictable trajectory there. But hey, it’s gotten me to appreciate my morning coffee significantly more than I used to.

    Hi! Thanks for taking over. I’m jealous of your Gaggia… I have a broken Delonghi that I’m struggling to fix because all the parts have to be shipped across the border. -_-

      Hello! Yeah it’s a great machine. Which model do you have? I’ve heard some of theirs are pretty good value for money but I don’t have any experience with them.

        I think it’s an old Duo, maybe ~10 years old? They are relatively cheap because everything, even most of the innards are made of plastic. It’s why mine is broken: the main support structure is degraded and the screws keep popping out of their holes when there’s even the tiniest bit of pressure.

          Ah, yeah I could see how that could cause a problem. I’ve heard really good things about the Stilosa but I don’t own one so I can’t say for sure. I did see one at a store a couple months ago and the steam control lever on the side felt really cheap to use. The rest looked and felt decent though.
