The Australian Greens are asking for people to sign their petition to the Australian Govt about Palantir’s influence in our country. Please sign if you agree. If they get enough signatures the govt will have to go on record with a response.

Palantir’s CEO just published a manifesto declaring that “some cultures are dysfunctional,” and that Western tech firms have a “moral debt” to US military dominance…

Australian Defence has spent over $26 million on Palantir since 2013. Palantir staff are embedded inside Defence. The company holds top secret clearance. Palantir is also inside the Australian Signals Directorate, AUSTRAC, the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, and has deep ties to Coles, Westpac, Rio Tinto and the national Future Fund has millions of public dollars invested in the company.

Palantir’s AI has been linked to lethal targeting in Gaza, contributing to tens of thousands of civilian deaths. They built the system ICE uses to track and deport immigrants in the United States. They are used to make military strikes in Iran in Lebanon.

These facts alone should have triggered an immediate review of every Australian contract.

We call on the Government to:

  • Immediately freeze all new Palantir contracts across every government agency

  • Review and reverse the Future Fund’s $100 million investment in Palantir

  • Remove Palantir’s top secret security clearance pending the outcome of that review

  • Conduct a full public audit of every existing Palantir contract particularly in Defence and security agencies, with findings tabled in Parliament

  • Cancel all Government contracts with Palantir

Yeh, let’s undermine our defense for a sentiment. I have a suspicion that Greens are always trying to cause as much harm as possible to Australia. This is one of the good examples.

the exact opposite, the US are the enemy. This is a country that commits atrocities everywhere, including Palestine and wants to invade Canada and Greenland

we should be aligning with sane countries like Canada and the EU nations.

we should also be following Europe’s lead and working towards getting rid of US Tech

The USA is the only country which can protect Australia. The EU is militarily weak. While the USA is not a respectful country, it is all we have. Pure pragmatism.

I’d say he USA is probably the only country that will get us involved in on of its wars (again).

I think that was a fair line of thinking before their current US president, but as the previous poster pointed out, the US have become erratic and dangerous in their own right. I wouldn’t go as far as to say they are the enemy, but certainly we cannot rely on them to protect us. The USA now has a policy of “America first”, which means that they will not help anyone unless it also serves the USA’s own self interest. And frankly, the USA does not rely on Australia for anything.

The USA has by far the highest military funding in the world. But we are not going to benefit from sacrificing our money and resources on that altar. Their ‘art of a deal’ is that they’ll take everything we’re willing to give, and give back as little as possible in return - which is likely to be nothing at all.

Our defence resources therefore should go elsewhere.
