Its because sex work is one of the oldest predominantly women run industries in history, so it has constantly been attacked because its one of the few ways women in history have been able to accumulate wealth and power for themselves. Men love making laws that hurt women after all.

There isn’t really a connection to sex work the way you’re trying to make it here. No one is stopping you from stripping down, waxing, taking professional photos, posting them in a variety of different places to try to get people’s attention, send messages every day to men you don’t care about, prep and do hair and make up for hours every day, and just to make a scant amount each week.
It’s all work at the end of the day.

I kind of think it’s jealousy. It looks super easy for women to make good money doing sex work. I’m not saying it is super easy, but it has that appearance. It looks like they get to take a few pictures, some video, and they’re making just as much or more than the man that’s upset about it.
I’d love for any of those jealous men to try to sell themselves on a platform like onlyfans and see how hard it is to make money.

Look at any list of top creators on OnlyFans. How many of them are men?

I know, well, second hand, how much work goes into it. I have a few friends who use it as a primary source of income and it’s a constant, daily effort. You have to know marketing trends, keep up with your fanbase, send personalized messages to people you don’t give a fuck about, not to mention the hours of hair and makeup, daily gym routine and diet to maintain.
Have you forgotten about gay men?
No. That’s a much smaller and specific audience.

I joined the army at age 18 thinking of nothing but college money, travel, and adventure for pay. I got all of that. Of course knowing what I know now about how corrupt & evil every government & corporation is, I’d rather have not been born on this planet at all because I want no association with anything evil or corrupt, but here we are all born on earth and figuring out what to do with our lives and how to survive the best we can with what information we’ve been provided at any given moment.
- I’ve never had a job that I could get in trouble for getting an unauthorized tattoo or a sunburn so there’s definitely a scale here
- You’re right, but that’s still a choice you made. I nearly joined the army at 18 because it seemed like the only way out of a bad situation, but I didn’t, because I decided that I would rather be homeless. I’m not saying you made a bad choice by doing what you could for yourself, I’m saying it’s nothing to brag about and certainly nothing to be proud of.

What is the point of your comment and ~ signoff ~ here? The original post is highlighting the hypocrisy of certain people looking down upon XYZ while proudly advertising their status as ABC. XYZ involves consensually selling illusions of one’s body in the form of digital images, video, chats, whereas ABC involves using one’s body to serve, ultimately, the large-scale destruction of other people’s bodies, property, lives.
Before you signed up for the military, had you never heard of a war before? Are you from a country where there had been no war or mention of war or there had never collateral damage from other countries’ wars/invasions?

Some of the people in my life I respect the most voluntarily joined military or police forces and then quit, because they realized how deeply fucked up it was. Or if they served their military time, afterward they devoted time and energy to antiwar activism and efforts to actually change laws, persecute their own country’s war criminals, and change things for the better.
