As other progressive Jews here and overseas keep saying: The pro-Israel/Zionist lobby are in fact, anti Jewish.

It didn’t click for me until I heard Zionism described as a white supremacist ideology. It cut through the bullshit for me. I am still very wary of any anti-Jewish narrative. There is a lot of dangerous and unjustified hate out there and it can be a slippery slope. But given the current state of the world, including our own country, you have to take a stand against that sort of shit regardless of the source.

Today I saw this video (15Mins) and thought of your above comment. If you have the time, have a listen to what the Israeli analyst has to say. He is an anti-Zionist living in the UK but knows the society well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxq8LSfVH3Y

Haim Bresheeth Zabner talks about Israel’s “social psychosis,” and why young Israelis are more conservative than old ones.

Haim Bresheeth Zabnner was Professor of Media and Cultural Studies at University of East London and then a Professorial Research Associate at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).He is Filmmaker, photographer, film studies scholar, and historian. His films include “A State of Danger,” a documentary on the first Palestinian Intifada. His books include “An Army Like No Other: How the Israel Defense Force Made a Nation.” Haim is the son of two Holocaust survivors and was raised in Israel. He is a member of Holocaust survivors and Descendents Against the Genocide and a founding member of Jewish Network for Palestine. On November 4, Haim was arrested over a speech he gave at a pro Palestine demonstration outside the residence of Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely in north London.

Here’s an article written by Sarah: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/jul/02/url-royal-commission-antisemitism-jewish-australian-supporting-palestinian-freedom-sarah-schwartz-ntwnfb

Amongst the many pertinent things she has to say are:

No government or institution can or should decide the boundaries of Jewish identity. But they can stop reinforcing the fiction that Jews and Israel are interchangeable.

When the Holocaust is used to police Jewish identity, silence those who bear witness to atrocity, or to recast allegations of mass violence as acts of persecution against the accused, it is hollowed of any moral force.

Instead its memory should be not only about what we inherit, but what we choose to do with that inheritance.
