I’m shopping for a new domain provider. Just seeing what is out there. I’ve been with Namecheap for years, and if i had a gripe, it would be about the price hikes, which really are just ICANN prices kicked down to us, but, I am wondering if there is greener grass out there. Recommendations?
Thanks.
** Edit, an update after doing the math. My working matrix for why I am migrating to Porkbun.
Namecheap > .tv = $40.98
Porkbun > .tv = $26.26
Namecheap > .co = $45.48
Porkbun > .co = $31.20
Namecheap > .net = $18.58
Porkbun > .net = $12.52
Namecheap > .com = $18.48
Porkbun > .com = $11.08
Porkbun has a tonne of TLDs and is reasonably priced and great. No scummy paywalling like you get work so many registrar’s
I am also happy with Porkbun. Very easy management and they have an API
Been debating them. Will explore. Thanks.
Namecheap isn’t that cheap tbh. I’ve been pretty happy with Porkbun.
Agreed. The prices no longer seem to make sense with them
I’m on porkbun and am quite happy with them. Been with them a while, but when I first purchased my domain name, they were one of the cheapest and looked decent in other ways too

The winner seemed to be Cloudflare.
I had seen this, but I stopped trusting Cloudfare years ago. I’m running away from the “big guys”.
Personally I’ve been pretty happy with namecheap and would stay with them unless you’ve had a problem.
My problem with Namecheap is that they keep jacking up prices year after year. And trying to upsell me on a million little things.
I’m not OP, but I’m also planning to leave Namecheap.
So, why this makes sense for me to leave Namecheap is renewals
Namecheap > .tv = $40.98
Porkbun > .tv = $26.26
Namecheap > .co = $45.48
Porkbun > .co = $31.20
Namecheap > .net = $18.58
Porkbun > .net = $12.52
Namecheap > .com = $18.48
Porkbun > .com = $11.08
I don’t operate any others, but that is pretty self-explanatory.
