Paris is proof that redemption is possible.
I don’t think you know enough about who she was before to make judgements on her character back then. She has been doing great things, but I don’t think she was ever bad enough to call it redemption.
Redemption from what? My understanding of her public life is that someone nonconsensually released a sex tape of her and then she started in some shows in an attempt to capitalize on a shitty situation.
She was abused as a child at this very school that is getting sued. She was psychologically broken from her experiences there. She didn’t handle it well, and is now trying to do something about it.

I appreciate your response, but I was just curious as to what the original commenter thinks she needed redemption for. Apparently they think that being “vapid and vacuous” requires a redemption arc, despite likely not knowing her personally and having no actual knowledge of her real personality. There are only so many ways for someone to bounce back from a leaked sex tape and she chose hers and I just don’t think it requires an apology (as Carl alludes to elsewhere in this thread).
I think the article strengthens the idea that we have no idea who she is and what her life has been like, so unless she’s actually wronged someone, I don’t see a need for a redemption. For what it’s worth, I was aware of the content of the article you shared, but I didn’t think it was relevant to why she should be seeking redemption. Though I do appreciate you attempting to add context.
That is awesome of her
Redemption for being that kind of person. She was a vapid and vacuous person and now she’s fighting for the well-being of teens and underrepresented children.
What the hell do you think redemption means? Do you just never forgive a person after they’ve decided to stop making bad decisions? You lead a sad life if that’s true. All - I misunderstood or misread the person’s quote. My mistake. I apologize.
I think it was the exact opposite. It sounds like they were saying she didn’t require redemption, because she hadn’t done anything worthy of scorn. Basically, having revenge porn leaked isn’t something people should be shamed over, and suggesting that it requires “redemption” is inherently based in slut-shaming and misogyny.
oh; I misread that - if so, I agree 100%.
You redeemed yourself…
I rather thought they were suggesting she had nothing special to redeem herself for.
