Ha! Good for them!

Ha! Good for them!

I don’t stay optimistic, at least not all the time. I just can’t. I don’t think any sane, realistic person can.
I try to be kind and empathetic towards others. I try to be a decent person. The world needs so much more than I’m capable of giving. Sometimes that’s overwhelming. I try to remember that my own personal responsibility has reasonable limits. Sometimes that’s enough.
I take some “me time” whenever I feel I need to. I know that self care helps me be better to others. That’s what matters most, in my opinion.

“Double my salary or fuck off.”
(This isn’t meant as serious advice. There are too many desperate, unemployed people out there. Still, if you were fired but are happy with your new job, consider doing it for the personal satisfaction.)

I can’t help but wonder how you noticed this

It’s easy (and encouraged!) to dunk on Trump for all the human rights abuses and excessive use of lethal force, but the amount of “soft power” he’s given up is truly staggering. Previous administrations, both Republican and Democrat, spent decades building up quiet US influence around the world, and he’s destroying it like a toddler knocking over wooden blocks.

I hate this headline. “Why are you stupid peasants whining about the destruction of the ecosystem instead of simply spending more on stopgap measures?”
Give more money to the companies that helped create this problem! That’ll fix everything!
a disingenuous prick who insists on using alt-right “debate tactics”
These people are quite possibly social media’s greatest plague.
I’m kinda embarrassed when I order cheese sticks but they are SO GOOD I can’t help myself

Payment processors/banks should not be the arbiters of ethics. If a thing is legal, they should be REQUIRED to handle it, or lose their ability to conduct business nationwide.
Yeah, but where’s the picture of him shirtless and riding a horse?

They want to achieve ignorance. Concern for the climate HAS to pit you against corporations and fossil fuels, and Trump can’t have that. It’s much cheaper and easier to hide the facts rather than fix the problem.

I wish retaliation shenanigans would always get this kind of scrutiny, irrespective of political bias, but I know I’m dreaming.

This is a weird story, and kinda encourages me to dislike Emilia Clarke.

Okay, prepare for some ignorant questions from someone who is rooting for Ukraine but doesn’t know the specifics as well as you do.
The war is destroying Russia’s economy. Got it. What about the Ukrainian economy? Has international help and the seizing of Russian oligarch’s money really helped that much? How have they been able to survive?

That, for so many reasons, is an incredibly sad headline

This whole thing is grotesquely fascinating, but my biggest question is this: did the husband even glance at the watch before giving it to his wife, or did he just hand her the package it was mailed in?
I know that if I gave someone a $650 gift, I’d look it over carefully to make sure it was in good condition, but that’s just me.

They wouldn’t have wanted to see him anyway
I suppose this “loophole” was intentional.
(Disclaimer: the previous statement was made based on nothing but cynicism and decades of reading the news.)
