If the current station is working fine the feds should give the money to a local transit project that actually really needs money. Like one of the rail lines being built out across the country.
I could think of hundreds of transit improvement projects in NYC alone that this kind of money would be better used for
vanity bullshit aside, we just got done building Moynihan Train Hall. If you don’t like the dingy Penn Station you can board Amtrak from there instead. this is so many layers of fucked.
Nothing says train station like an attached gold ballroom.
