I am stuck in a Nebraskan suburb. I avoid my neighbors, especially after one of them threatened to recontact the authorities if I reapproached him or his family. (To keep a long story short, he basically accused me of spying on him.) Also, I had some really awful experiences with other suburbanites when I was younger and I have slowly come to the conclusion that suburbs are blights on the planet.
I am in a JVP chapter but its activity has been pretty slow lately and for some reason one of the other members is not replying to my messages.
Almost everybody is too busy to talk to me. I feel like hardly anybody is interested in what I have to share either.
The only “real” social interaction that I get is when I go to Bible study on Thursdays. (Personally I’d prefer a good synagogue—there is just something about Judaism that really clicks with me—but beggars can’t be choosers.) Otherwise, my interactions with relatives and others tend to be brief.
Has anybody the time and interest in talking with me?

Comrade, I want you to know your posts are some of the highest quality on the site and indeed on the internet, I have a lot of them saved and bookmarked and I find them an invaluable resource.
I don’t think I can offer you what you’re seeking, but I can at least tell you that someone out there is reading your words (even just selected quotations from books) and learning a lot from them.
Suburbs are awful, I dislike them as well. Sorry your neighbor is a weirdo.
I’m also in JVP but have been inactive lately due to other life factors (job search and long unemployment, wedding planning) but I’m planning to start back up again soon.
I really enjoy your posts and have also learned a lot from them. I read a lot of them but I dont comment much in general these days. Ilk try to start saying something when I see your posts just so that you don’t feel like you’re posting into the void. Your write ups are some of my favorite posts on hexbear.

I tried sharing some of the research with the Jewish Telegraph Agency, like the U.S. military copying from the Wehrmacht, but they never replied and never published anything about what I showed them… generally I try not to assume that others deliberately ignore me, but it still disappoints me when all that I get is radio silence from Jewish adults since the Jewish community is an important reason why I do this research. I thought about making a Reddit account so that I could reach the people at r/JewsOfConscience but I loathe the thought of making a Reddit account for any purpose.
Have you been doing any research lately? On scripture, maybe?
