      https://news.mongabay.com/2021/05/is-planting-trees-as-good-for-the-earth-as-everyone-says/

Only a small part of the usual criticism will apply for this guy’s forest

Ok what the hell, if you look this guy up you find like 4 articles from the fakest journalism sites ever that have just tried to write the same 4 paragraphs in a different way and barely that and then basically just reddit and social media posts talking about him.

There is no official or respected group talking about this. So take this whole story with a grain of salt and hefty skepticism.

But, it seems he was in charge of the forest management department for Sinop and used his team and government funding (and apparently a lot of volunteer labor of the towns people) to plant trees to help a deforested area in the 1970s to 90s and now an additional 25 plus years later they are showing off the trees are still alive.

Please note the not alone and government funded position to literally be in charge of trees. But man I would love to retire after 19 years of work too.

Chrono Trigger made me grow up thinking you’d need several lifetimes and inhuman resolve to single handedly plant a forest.

Planting the same type of tree doesn’t make a forest. It’s a tree farm.
