    Brown said with 180,000 votes, he represented Aucklanders more than Parliamentarians did.

    Wow, did he really get voted in with 12% of the population of Auckland voting for him? (I know not everyone is eligible to vote, like kids, but damn that seems like a small number of votes).

      Local body elections have had a very low turnout the last few years, I wouldn’t be surprised if less than 50% of eligible voters actually voted.
