Brian “Road Dogg” James has reportedly exited WWE.

Bodyslam reports that WWE lead writer Road Dogg has departed WWE. PWInsider has reported the same.

Road Dogg has been with WWE since 2014, and was the co-lead writer on WWE SmackDown, a position he gained in February 2025.

Fightful Select is working on more details regarding his departure.

He was formerly a writer and producer from 2014 to 2019, before stepping back from his role following WrestleMania 35. He remained with the company, working as a coach at the WWE Performance Center before being released in January 2022. He was re-signed in August 2022 as the Senior Vice President of Live Events.

Before retiring, he was a multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X in 2019.

I forgot he even had a podcast. Although I don’t really keep up with wreslters’ podcasts. I didn’t even realize Talk is Jericho was still going until YouTube kept suggesting I listen to the new one with John Goblikon.

So did I. I just figured he would start a shitty podcast to milk some easy money out of WWE marks. Looks like he’s ahead on this one.

lol, I thought you were asking what he was going to have change his podcast’s name to, in case WWE owns the rights to “Oh You Didn’t Know.”

Oh man, I like Nekrogoblikon but I haven’t been able to listen to Jericho’s podcast for years and there’s just a sour taste there now. It bothers me too much that he won’t (or wouldn’t, but he probably still does it) stop platforming people like David Weiss who will push every conspiracy under the sun without ever stopping them to call them a stupid idiot. Stick to musicians and disgruntled ex-WWE guys who just want to bitch about the company.

So… does this mean a New Age Outlaws reunion on the convention circuit, or if either of them can still lace them up maybe an indie tour where they get to do their mic schtick.

Good news for people who like SmackDown, I think that’s the right show, this means he’s not in creative anymore. Although I don’t think it’s him stinking up the joint on his own.
