I just saw a record on bandcamp advertised as being pressed on “eco vinyl”.
I’d never heard of this.

That’s nothing new, it’s just a new name.
For as long as records have existed, unsold or unneeded records have been chopped into slag, remelted, and pressed into new ones.
I think the last Cure record was an eco vinyl press
