Other than the white on slightly-lighter-white Mac menus toolbars, the thing that drives me nuts on the iPhone is that it never feels like I’m really pushing buttons. It feels like I’m stabbing at a blob of gel and hoping that I hit it the right way to get what I want. And oftentimes I don’t. It’s maddening.
The guy responsible for Liquid Glass left Apple. Hopefully that means they untangle this mess over the next year.
Apple never admits they made a mistake. They also don’t tend to fix issues quickly unless somehow forced. They ignore it as long as possible.
It will take more than a year. It will likely take until they replace Liquid Glass with whatever comes next. Probably something named after Ice to keep with the water themes for their UI design language.

It doesn’t feel like you’re pushing buttons because you never have been. The screen is just a solid sheet of glass.
If you’re not hitting icons the “right way”, better graphic design won’t help.
