Why are groceries actually cheaper at smaller grocery stores?

Who’s profiting off your pain at the checkout counter?

And why won’t the government DO SOMETHING about it?

The solutions are out there. Like a Consumer Protection Watchdog, to crack down on price fixing, gouging customers, and bullying suppliers.

They publish stuff all the time. The press refuses to cover it. They rarely refer to her by name.

Brian Lilley is living with Ford’s press secretary so dont expect insights from Sun media.

I remember that last June, when Sol Mamakwa was thrown out of Queen’s Park that one day in protest of Bill 5, I swear the press barely referred to her by name until deep into the articles.

I see her stuff, and some other NDP MPs frequently but I wonder whether their communications are reaching broadly enough to local Ontarians to show off that the NDP still have skin in the game.

Part of it’s location. France Gélinas (NDP MPP for Nickel Belt; Health critic) gets a reasonable amount of time on the “local”[1] CTV affiliate here because they desperately cover anything remotely newsworthy done by any MPP in the northeast, and she’s pretty active. I doubt she gets more than the occasional mention outside the area, though.

Stiles also gets some screen time here. Others, not so much.

[1] “Local” here means they’re based more than an hour’s drive away from me in Sudbury, and cover everything from Sault St. Marie to the Quebec border, and from Parry Sound north until you’d fall off into the Arctic Ocean. I forget how many provincial ridings that is—six or seven?
