My bread rolls are done.
A mixed batch with 2 hamburger buns (kept flat by putting a small loaf tin on top of them and two standard rolls. I also used a bit of dough to make some crackers, to go with some vegies and dip for snacks.

A replacement battery for my MS surface is only $24 but it’s a wild process of heating and separating the parts as it’s stuck together with that yellow tape rather than simple micro-screws.
I didn’t know I needed this in my life, but I’m up for it.

Tonight’s hamburger was pretty good. I’ve never actually made proper hamburger buns before, I’m glad I worked out I can use my small loaf pan on top as a weight. It didn’t just make it flat, the weight made it a bit denser so it didn’t fall apart as I ate.

Meal prep is well underway. Dough for rolls is rising, yoghurt is draining and filling for cottage pie is simmering. Now I just need to form & bake the rolls, do the potato topping for the pie and chop up five meals worth of salads in various forms.

I read someone watched a movie a day to help with that, thought it sounded like a good idea so I’m going to do that too. I have a stack of dvds I haven’t seen yet, after that I can watch the telly again.

Agreed, it’s a natural thing to do when you can’t be active or concentrate on craft/a book but it sure takes a claw hammer to your brain.

On a jasmine war. This time of year is when it gets really annoying and jumps through everything at lightspeed.
Looks nice, smells nice, but no thanks can’t be f’d leaving it too late again.
Weapon of choice is the kukri.
In my previous place I had jasmine growing on a trellis that was far too small for it, on the side of the carport. I decided to replace it with something a little less exuberant, but it tooks years of cutting and poisoning before I could get rid of it.
Yea it’s so prolific. I hate using glyphosate but there’s no choise here (and I’ll still lose the battle probably).

The kukri has become a fave garden tool surprisingly. It’s just quicker and keeps its edge dealing with the little stuff. Supposed to be an ornamental thing but it works very well.
