the maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry

  • owning a home valued extremely high does nothing for you if its the only home you own and you live there, especially if all the homes are valued high because you can’t even “trade up” if you wanted.

it’s usually kind of shitty, even, skyrocketing residential real estate prices is what drives gentrification by pushing fixed income owners out as tax assessments rise.

its such an obvious dog whistle for landlords and the sort or rich scum that have residential real estate portfolios.

one of the first “oh” moments i had while reading Capital Vol. 1 was understanding Marx’ description of the tension between use-value and exchange-value. and the real estate/housing crisis is a stark example.

i wish more people would consider that, just because some rich freak will pay you even bigger bucks for the place you call home, it’s not to your benefit.

trump-anguish: “We’re going to cause inflation on purpose.” <- the self appointed “economic geniuses”

If dems weren’t controlled opposition they should be exploiting this all the way to 2028 running on grievances of everyone under the age of 45. Imagine how many young men they’d win back by simply saying “we will lower rent and get some of you out of your parents basement. If Wall Street pigs see less returns on their fancy pants rich people gambling? All the better!”

But they won’t, even in crisis of dying the dem “strategy” is to kick back and relax as their dying irrelevant party dies even faster.

Tried explain to my nana today that me owning a house is basically impossible even if I get a university degree and work very hard, saving up for decades, investing smartly, sacrificing my spare time e.t.c. which is unlikely for me to be able to handle as an autistic ADHDer.

I explained that most who own a house only can because they either did back when it was affordable decades ago like some of her friends or because their parents are wealthy and thus so are they because nepotism. She tried arguing, “well the world is just not fair like that” and I replied, “well let’s fight to make it fair”.

Slowly but surely my nana will be radicalised, I am the evil brainwashing commie grandson.
