I thought I was too late planting my snow peas and that they would die in the heat before managing to produce anything, but instead I have the first pods on the vine now! I also have the zucchini and squash on the verge of production and some cherry tomatoes at the flowering stage.
Its been the weirdest growing season.
It has been, it makes it hard to tell what is happening because the seasons are weird and what is happening because of my erratic/new gardening.
Oooh, fresh snow peas are so amazing!!
They are also really good as a fresh refrigerator pickle. You can just make up a pickling mixture (about 50/50 vinegar and water, plus some salt, sugar and spices to taste, boiled then cooled) and keep it in the fridge, then add excess snow peas as you get them. Because it’s not cooked they stay crisp and crunch and they last for ages, and you don’t have to have them all available to process at the same time. They work well with a cheese board or just as a snack on their own, or could be cut up to put in salads etc.
I had somehow never thought of this and now I want to do this very, very badly. It sounds amazing! I’m a big pickle fan!

Still haven’t gotten my pay 😕 It’s in the damn cloud somewhere. Had to transfer money out of my kids bank accounts to cover direct debits. I feel deeply ashamed.
That sucks. Your boss knows its late, doesn’t he? Is there anything he can do from the payroll side?
All he knows is the money has gone from his account. There was an industry outage affecting merchant payments to external accounts earlier this week, so it’s been caught up in that somehow.
There is no shame to be had. You are doing what you have to, and the money will be back in theirs as soon as it hits your account. Its nothing you’ve done and beyond your control.
There’s no shame, it’s keeping the water and lights on that they also use and you’ll pay it back.
I’m wondering if Mr P is contributing to the household expenses. Because now would be a great time

Melbcat gets very upset at The Bad Cat being around if she sees him and they’ve tried to punch on through the screen door before. Hissing on sight. Intruders in her territory stress her out.
She also hates it when I go outside without her, especially if she can hear me talking. She has sensitive feelings

I’ve been sitting at my desk for the last half an hour trying to decide if I want a coffee or an energy drink.

Vaccination done.
First there was a huge fight for him to take his sedative, he nipped me and chucked up.
At the vet the nurses tried to pat him, even after we said not to. he did not like it. But then they wrapped him up in a towel and gave him his shot near his bum. So success. 🙂 Right now he’s still a bit wobbly and is resting.
So for Ted the past week has been good. He weighed in at 1.25 kg less than a year ago, he’s had his fur trimmed and brushed so no more mats and knots and had his shots. 😻😻😻
He’s come so far and done a great job today (as have you). He’s earned a treat and a snooze.
Give that man a squeeze tube
Powerful, courageous ted, definitely needs some treats once he’s recovered!
What a big week for Ted. A snooze in a sunny spot should now be his only agenda item.

Fire drill successfully run at work. I always haaaate doing it, but it took less than 2 minutes this time but another 2 minutes to write up the report. Helps that I had to give the heads up that it was happening this time.
