While older members of leadership in the House and the Senate are retiring, some from the Silent Generation say their seniority is still a boon for their districts.

    Democrats: Maxine Waters, John Garamendi, and Doris Matsui from California; Eleanor Holmes Norton from Washington, D.C.; and David Scott of Georgia.

    Republicans: Jim Risch of Idaho; Virginia Foxx from North Carolina; Hal Rogers of Kentucky; John Carter from Texas; and Rep. Jim Baird from Indiana.

    I didn’t catch the last couple, but whatever.

    a small proportion of them are Silent generation, they predate the boomers even.

      It’s also designed for seniority to come with greater authority/power, which punishes younger candidates and their constituents.
