I want to show you all this video because this type of conflicts are happening all around Latin America in solidarity rallies. What the Yankees did in Venezuela has scarred plenty of us too. There will be no room for neutrals anymore against the US imperialism.

The good side is that decades of propaganda are getting destroyed and people are getting radicalized. If we see this dialectically, two identities are clashing hard:

• The pro US/ pro imperialist identity. Basically, the colonized identity that reproduces the oppressors identity and speech
• The anti imperialist identity.

Hopefully, the former will be exposed for what it is while the latter will stand strong.

As context for the colonized identity, cultural colonization does not erase identities: it subordinates them. It turns a historical and situated way of life into a universal model, and presents any alternative as irrational, populist, or primitive. Thus, global capitalism not only organizes the economy, but also the social imagination.

Decolonizing culture is not about returning to the past or idealizing traditions. It is about regaining the ability to think from our material conditions, challenging common sense, and producing our own categories for naming the world.

Because the most effective domination is that which no longer needs to be imposed: it reproduces itself.
