Just got my first everdrive, figure ill never need these carts and at the outrageous prices they are going for, would you sell or hold onto them? I only have like 10 and only a couple are rarer ones.

I have a ton of game systems and stuff in general and im not into collecting things that dont serve a function. If they sit on the shelf there’s no point to having them. But I can hold onto em for 10 more years if theyre all gonna shoot up to 50 bucks each, or has the craze died now?

The markets are unpredictable. I view my physical collection as the archive. Yes they are in boxes but they are the proof of ownership for my rom library.

If you don’t care and want to sail the high seas for your games, then sell them when you want. Otherwise I’d make nice displays for them and have them as art.

Don’t sell them, trade them to other collectors for other consoles or peripherals you want or need. I’ve amassed a museum of retro goodies by trading, and it’s way more satisfying for everyone involved.

Depending on where you live, legally speaking if you sold the carts you would have to delete the ROMs as well.

Personally I would just hold onto them. Plausible deniability aside, its nice to have them if the digital backup ever gets lost or accidentally deleted or corrupted.

Chance are they will go up in value but it also means holding on to them another 5 years or whatever. Maybe sell them and specifically put the money towards something cool you do want.

I’d imagine they’re only getting rarer. Also maybe they could be of use to dump the ROM and saves too.

Let’s hope you don’t need to, but I’d selling them only if you’re desperate for money.

I am positive all these roms are out there already. It would be neat to dump a couple saves but I dont wanna shell out for the hardware to do it right now as I spent way too much on other accessories recently !
