In a socialist system of government where the Communist Party acts as the main social institution (the Big Cheese of the country, if you will), would there be other like-minded socialist parties who would either work cooperatively on a common cause in a “vanguard coalition” (like China or the DPRK) or would they compete a lot like a bourgeois liberal system?

    the answer to this question is a matter of the conditions of the time and location in when it happens. Either one (or another situation entirely) could happen depending on context.

    The problem with this is that replicating the way the bourgeois liberal system works makes space for bourgeois liberal parties as well. Therefore, I would argue against this approach, at least while the international and national bourgeoisie still exist or have the potential to reform.
