Amid a nationwide decline of teaching, Curatolo is not alone: a striking number of gen Z graduates are entering the classroom, despite longstanding concerns over pay and conditions

“You hear a lot of negative things about education, and if it’s worth it or not,” he said. “But just making an impact, and the sense of community I felt in the elementary school system, made me realize that this job is going to work out.”

GenZ: kicking ass, taking names and teaching kids.

Job markets tough right now, but I spent the day with family yesterday watching TV and there were a lot of 'become a teacher’s commercials so I guess the market is in need.

Well… heres the thing I don’t know how much all the little money symbols around education of kids is relevant past a certain point… because what is the point of literally everything else if we aren’t giving kids direct interaction with adults who can teach them about the world in a standardized, community setting?

“We can’t afford teachers” is a strange sentence the more you think about it.

Every job pays dick and you’ll never be able to afford anything anyways. Might as well get a state job with decent benefits where you feel good about what you do.

Unlikely to pan out when they have to pay rent. I guess they could just live with their parents.

Yeah, unlikely. They will be teaching them according to how they laws tell them to teach.

In the US, that will include Christianity and no sex-ed. If they deviate, they will be fired.

        Don’t get your hopes up.
