I’m not a fan of Newsom, but using the term “glazes” when he just quoted Reagan seems like a bit of an exaggeration. Sure, it whitewashes him a bit and falsely implies he’s someone whose opinions have merit… But “glazes?”

“The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity,” he said. “Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building “a nation composed of good and decent people.”

That’s it. That’s the “glazing” of Ronald Reagan.

I will admit, I kinda just hate the phrase glazing in general.
