Hi all!
I have a few gameboy carts where the PCBs are wrecked with corrosion or in one case it looks like someone took steel wool to the contacts. I suspect the chips are still OK though so I’d like to source some new PCBs if I can so I can swap over the rom chips. Hoping someone knows a source for such a thing.
Specifically, I’d be looking for: DMG-BEAN-01, DMG-BEAN-01, and DMG-GCA-01.
Thanks!
I did find one for the BEAN boards here. Allegedly the chips from different revisions of the board are compatible.
It’s worth noting that it might be easier (and potentially a lot cheaper) to find another game with the same board and cannibalize that.
This is a good website for finding what kind of donor you’d need.
Oh wow pricey! Was hoping I could find them for a dollar or two. My preference is to not detroy another original just to save these. Only one of them seems to be worth anything (Gargoyle’s quest) the other two are common inexpensive games so likely not worth destroying another game of like value. Thanks for looking tho
I’m not big on harvesting from original cartridges either, but I can understand using something like a Mary-Kate and Ashley game to restore a Pokémon cart.
