This is why they are protesting:

  • Demonstrators use “ice scraper protests” to denounce immigration raids, pressure action from Home Depot
  • Home Depot and Lowe’s Share Data From Hundreds of AI Cameras With Cops

What are they protesting for or against?

    Nevermind, I should have googled:

Thanks for the link. At first I was thinking what does Home Depot have to contribute in stopping the raids, but the guy quoted in the story is on to something - they can take quick action and close the store when there’s a protest. And while I don’t think there’s a benefit to closing the store when there’s a raid, Home Depot could make any public statement at all about how the government is acting inappropriately. Individuals have performed impressive actions to resist this lawless administration, while large entities have consistently folded.

Home Depot only says that they don’t coordinate with ICE.

You should wait a week so that they restock and then return it so then they have a ton of extra that they won’t sell.

It’s Southern California, I’m surprised they had them at all- they won’t be actually selling many of them no matter what. My BIL has only lived there and in Mexico and when he visited us in New England the first time, he was very confused at the heavy duty brush/scraper in my car.

The items the people are holding in the video are just generic plastic putty knives, not purpose-made ice scrapers (i.e. they came from the paint department, not automotive). Still works for the purposes of the protest, but I agree they probably don’t stock very many ice scrapers.

We actually do get snow in SoCal. In the mountains. I could literally go surfing and snowboarding in the same day just by taking a 2 hour drive from IB to Big Bear Mountain

The one year I spent winter months in San Diego, it froze hard enough for pipes to burst all around the area.

I probably brought it with me; I’m from the Midwest, and after the time in San Diego, I lived in Houston TX for a year and we had a blizzard. So. My bad, folks. Tho seeing palm trees covered in ice and snow was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. So surreal.

Yeah, that’s why I changed it to “won’t sell many.” It’s possible to see snow, but I can’t imagine many people actually wanting/needing to purchase an ice scraper

We are still in this together, but “this” is going to be real different in the very near future. This demands a different kind of “we.”

The French Resistance during Nazi occupation played important roles delivering downed Allied airmen back to safety, supplying military intelligence, and acts of sabotage.

The Underground Railroad is estimated to have brought 100,000 freedom seekers to safety between 1810 and 1850.

It’s time.
