I am looking for a quote alleged to have been uttered by a student of Baal Shem Tov (is that the proper way to address him?), something to the effect of praying for the whole instead of yourself, because it’s more pleasing to G-d or that it will be accepted where praying for self may not be, and also when we pray for all, we are naturally included. I don’t even know if that’s correct, but is my vague understanding. Thank you.
