Capitalist apologists will tell you that the companies are being squeezed by the demands of the market, and that after giving all their net income to shareholders and management and favored business partners, their margins are so small that they’re barely breaking even.

Won’t someone think of the poor business owners, who are barely staying afloat while somehow garnering a steadily growing share of the world’s wealth?

If you want a really fun one, go check out Apple’s profit for this year, and then divide that number by the number of employees.

Decided to try this with a cursory search of some other companies (using 2024 stats and the net income from this website):

      • Walmart - 15.511B/2.1M = $7386
      • Apple - 93.736B/164,000 = $571341.46 not-built-for-this
      • Amazon - 59.248B/1,556,000 = $38077.12
