Relay finally shut down without subscription - not sure how much I’ll really use reddit from hereon out, most of my time is on lemmy anyway
Occasionally I’m tempted to look at Reddit again, and then I remember that I’d have to use the web or official client now, so it would all just be ads anyway…
all just be ads anyway
If you have to view reddit. old.reddit.com on FF with ublock is the least worst option.
Or use RSS.
I fully anticipate old.reddit to be shutdown somewhat soon – perhaps even without warning. Their corporate direction is clear.
Old is the only way I can ever go back. I take an unreasonable amount of displeasure in modern websites with unnecessary layers and content. If they pull old, and they probably will eventually, I’m just out for good, I won’t even want to lurk.
RedReader and Infinity apps both still had Reddit api access last time I checked them.
RedReader is a working Reddit app alternative. Free and open source.
Am I missing something or does this only have a cards type mode?!
Edit: You have to disable “inline previews” to get a regular / compact view.
Edit: Too bad you need an account for subbing. One of the features I’ll miss from Infinity.
