I’m out of bread and need to decide what to get from the grocery store tomorrow. What do you all like to put your sandwich fillings atop? I usually go for some kind of multigrain, recently dabbled into the sourdough. Maybe a pumpernickel next? If your answer is white bread I’ll be extremely disappointed, don’t do that to me.
Truth be told, I don’t know if I’ve ever had a Reuben or a melt, something I’ll need to rectify.
Garlic bread on a baguette is a must, though an acceptable failsafe option of a bagel works in an emergency.
It’s a crime to put lox on anything other than a bagel. Well, maybe with the exception of soft scrambled eggs, but those can go on a bagel too.
Alas, I believe you’ve blasphemed by suggesting white bread for a grilled cheese or PB&J. Doing 'em on whole wheat adds that extra dimension of flavour and that fibre a healthy intestine needs
Toast the white bread first, then apply the peanut butter to each toasted bread, then put down a layer of cinnamon toast crunch on each bread. The cinnamon toast crunch provides a structure to retain the jelly and keeps it from squeezing out. Then drop on the jelly and combine the two sub-assemblies into the final sandwich.
Kaiser rolls
Yikes.
I’ve heard of people using cinnamon toast crunch (or cheerios? idk) to make french toast extra crunchy.
I learned it from an instructional film.
It’s bagel bread.
Okay, but what kind of bagel?
Tread carefully, there’s only one correct answer.
It’s bagel white bread with garlic sprinkle and then a smear of mayonnaise and then a onion flake sprinkle and then toasted until the onion is charred and the bagel bread is golden.
Okay that does sound pretty good!
You’re supposed to toast them in a pan on the stove.
Then apply a thick layer of cream cheese and a sprinkle of uncharred onion flakes and a heavy sprinkle of cayenne pepper. Slap on the cheddar cheese and smear on a thin layer of more mayonnaise. Put a baby spoon of black pepper on the mayonnaise layer. Lay down a sheet of salami and then a sheet of turkey. Repeat the before steps for the other half of the bagel bread. Then carefully combine the two assemblies to form the final sandwich.
Swap the cheddar and salami/turkey for smoked salmon and capers and we have a deal!
Yeah. Sure. Let’s make a deal. I’ve got a meat bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
Wow! How many kilometres long?
