    Just to anti-clickbait the stupid YouTube thumbnail question: He finds that rinsing bleached filters is no longer necessary from a taste perspective. And all Hario filters now seem to come from the same Japanese supplier, so there are no longer some that are better than others.

      I still like rinsing filters just because I find that I can more reliably get the filter to sit right in the funnel than if I just put it in dry. I don’t worry about using hot water or anything like that, though

        I also do it, but because I brew with the Switch. The glass is so thick that I have always preheated it based on common advice, but maybe I should do some taste tests where I try without.
