Looks like a rural skyline at night. Maybe looks a bit corporate memphis but that doesn’t take away from the feat of making it readable at such a small scale.
Alas, what you apparently believe to be a rural building is in fact a Shinto offerings stand with confections on it, so I guess it isn’t that legible at a small size after all.
That has nothing to do with the size and everything to do with me not knowing shit about Shinto.

You’re right to think this is a Japanese thing, but the rice balls are in fact tsukimi dango (which I guess are balls made from rice but just aren’t “rice balls” as such), and the stalks are of eulalia/susuki/pampas grass rather than rice.
